A. NO! Take a look at our prices. Once you are a member each training flight will cost you around £7.50! There is no catch here. If you take about sixty launches to go solo over six months, including your membership fees it will cost you an average of £18.00 per week.
A. Given average aptitude and providing you take regular training sessions (at least on every two weeks) about six months. This can be speeded up enormously if you want, by turning up more regularly and taking as many launches as possible. If you work hard you can be solo within six weeks!

A. Yes. At The Wolds Gliding Club we operate to the highest possible standards of instruction and engineering. You will never fly in an unsafe aircraft and you will not be allowed to fly solo unless you are absolutely competent. Take a look at our Instruction page.
A. Not normally, no. Look at our How we Operate page to see that you need to spend at least half a day at Pocklington to be able to progress with your training.
A. We accept that many people lead busy lives but we fly every day, all year round from Wednesday to Sunday so you may find you can make time to come along. If you are very busy, why not take an Intensive Training Course?
A. It varies all the time but generally we will be flying if the wind is less than 20mph and there is no fog or constant heavy rain. See "How we Operate" for more details.
A. No. We can fly in any wind condition from still air up to around 20mph of windspeed.
